Our goal is to provide in a safe, supportive, and encouraging space, an opportunity for those within and allies outwith the Mental Health Community to perform and enjoy a good evenings entertainment. Music, poetry and the spoken word, comedy, dance, all performances are welcome.
We recognise that isolation and stigma adversely and particularly can affect the Mental Health Community. We aim to combat this. We are run by a team of volunteers many of whom have lived and living experience of mental health issues and who give up their time for free.
1) To treat people with respect and courtesy at all times.
2) To be sensitive to others situation and need, and respectful of peoples racial origin, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.
3) Not to be aggressive in words or actions
4) Not to use offensive language.
5) Not to invade peoples space.
6) No one will be admitted under the influence of illicit drugs, and sharing or selling drugs is not permitted. Those doing so will be immediately asked to leave.
7) Although we allow moderate consumption of alcohol (byob) we reserve the right to ask attendees to leave if under the influence. Bad behaviour will not be tolerated. The Mad Jam ethos is to provide a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Violence towards another attendee or volunteer will result in an immediate ban from the events. If upset or worried by anything that has occurred at one of our events, please speak to a volunteer. What you say will be treated as confidential and kept strictly within the volunt
